PTS | New book by Prof. Reinhold Popp: Zukunft – Glück – Zusammenhalt. Rahmenbedingungen der Lebensqualität.
25 Essays Exploring Plausible Futures for Germany and Austria.
A multitude of books offer more or less astute advice on how to maximise individual happiness. Yet the significant impact of social, economic, technological and political factors on quality of life is often underestimated. These diverse contextual factors affecting happiness, quality of life and social cohesion are outlined in the 25 essays of this book, offering a realistic view of the present and looking ahead to the world of tomorrow and the day after – scientifically sound, yet expressed in accessible language.
These critical yet constructive analyses of the present and cautiously optimistic forecasts relate, among other things, to family and partnership life, housing, the world of work, leisure, consumption, the education system, the healthcare system, intergenerational relations, the pension system, the social market economy and the welfare state, future technologies, the natural and economic foundations of life, and politics.
