PTS | A Ceremony of Appreciation Honouring Long-Standing Members of the Faculty
On 21 January 2026, the Faculty of Psychotherapy Science hosted a ceremony of appreciation honouring several professors and long-standing colleagues who were retiring from active service. The event provided a dignified and celebratory setting in which to recognise the commitment, contributions and personal legacies these individuals have left at SFU over many years.
Dean Andrea Jesser guided guests through the ceremony, while speeches by Alfred Pritz and Jutta Fiegl lent the occasion an especially warm and festive atmosphere. At the heart of the event, however, were the honourees themselves, each of whom was recognised with a personal tribute:
- Bernd Rieken, honoured by Anna Jank
- Dorothea Oberegelsbacher, honoured by Gabriela Pap
- Thomas Stephenson, honoured by Elisabeth Schäfer
- Gerald Gatterer, honoured by Martin Jandl
- Reinhold Popp, honoured by Maria Gren
- Alfred Uhl, honoured by Human Unterrainer
The speeches were characterised by personal recollections and sincere expressions of gratitude, clearly illustrating the lasting impact the honourees’ work has had on the institution and their colleagues. The ceremony of appreciation will be remembered as a special moment of reflection and recognition.
